Welcome to The Robert Burre
The Robert Burre is a beautiful pub located on Burrs Road, Great Clacton, which is just over 2 miles from the town center. It has a good-sized car park which means parking is never an issue. The pub is run and staffed mostly by our family and this gives the Burre an atmosphere that you just can’t find in a chain pub. The pub is steeped in history and is reported to be haunted, and according to the old landlord “the little girl, ghost” saved his life . The Robert Burre was built in the late 1400s and as the age suggests makes it postcard perfect. The internal decoration is very old school with beautiful exposed oak beams with traditional low ceilings and open fireplaces making it home from home on a cold frosty winter’s evening. When the sun’s shining you can enjoy the beauty of this listed building while you enjoy a beer or glass of house wine in the very large, family-friendly beer garden. There are ample tables and things for the kids to do while you bask in the sunshine. There is also an animal enclosure which houses Alpaca’s a Donkey, a Pony, Ducks, Chickens and if your lucky you may catch sight of our gorgeous Border Collie, Harley, our terrier cross, Marmite or our cute little pub cat, Wanda. You can either purchase animal feed for a small fee at the bar. If you have dogs, please bring them along as the Burre is very dog friendly, If you love Karaoke, Quiz nights, live bands, poker nights, and charitable events you will be right at home, as we have a sprinkling of all these throughout the year, please check our Facebook page or website for details. The Burre has a games room with a pool table and dartboard so if your ideal afternoon features a game of Killer then come on down. Lastly, we look forward to seeing you down at the Burre!!
